God's Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10 -

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
In 2006, I wrote a poem about being God's masterpiece. Now, I've rewritten it to reflect a personal poem to me from my Lord. The original poem follows the first.
---
[Beloved Alyssa,]

You can't imagine how much fun
It truly was to paint
Your beige-toned flesh and sky-blue eyes
And heart that'd never faint.
I really did enjoy it--
The chance to paint your hair:
Long, straight locks of sunshine;
Each strand was done with care.
You long, thin toes are perfect.
Your nose: the ideal size.
I knew someday I'd give you
To a couple, like a prize.
How did I draw your smile
So uniform and bright?
I was pleased to know you'd be
A child of the Light.
You see me at my canvas,
A line of paint or two:
The most wonderful of lashes,
And long, shapely legs, too.
You look into the mirror,
more valuable than geese!
Only Christ would pay the price
To save My masterpiece.

[All my love, God]

I have always loved the original poem, but I love the new perspective, too!
Love,
Mom
